yep! the den has it’s own domain now. no private hosting yet but i’m seriously considering that. had an incredibly busy week and probably twice as much in the coming days. thanks to @magnetic_rose for all the excellent suggestions, i’ll see you and rael in Aug.

spent the whole weekend (jul 3, 4) covering the cosfest ix event at downtown east. it was exhausting! walking around all day long with my super heavy cam trying to get the ‘shot’. it was a huge turnout! the place is packed with cosplayers and of course, photographers! sigh, seriously, the number of photographers turning out on these events seems to be doubling each year. i saw a little girl (like 12 yrs old) hand-holding a DSLR, for real! some folks even brought studio lights… wth!

i was supposed to meet with a couple of friends, rotch (magnetic rose) and rael. unfortunately for rotch, she couldn’t fly in… well no worries rotch, i’ll feed ya with tons of photos from the event

i’m still post-processing the photos and will take some time to finish. i will do my best to post them tonight before i hit the sack. for now, i’ll simply share my photo contest entry… please visit my post via facebook and vote by “like”-ing the photo (feel free to post any comments too). please login to facebook before clicking on the image. thanks!

snoot! snoot!

last sunday i decided to really put some effort in my quest to improve my photography skills, i can’t be a noob forever can i? left my favorite reading spot at teadot and headed out for the diy shop at the basement to buy whatever stuff i thought i would need… then proceeded to urban write for the art supplies…

my first project… make a snoot and shoot… i got the idea off david hobby’s site. do check it out, there’s a lot of serious stuff in there for beginner’s and pro’s!

and here it is… snoot snoot

i gave it some test run… wasn’t particularly happy with the result though, firstly, i dunno how to post process it and the model is butt ugly… seriously!

anyways, i do have a better use for that snoot… i’ll try to shoot and post tomorrow evening. =P

started my weekend ritual very early today. got up around 8 and started surfing (the net!) to research further on lighting systems. i’m still undecided if i should go strobes or studio. i’m more inclined however on portability rather than power. hmn, ninuninuninu…

off to my favorite spot at teadot tampi1. it’s vacant! yey! ordered my favorite ‘perfect match’ hot tea. now to continue on my reading…

(bryan peterson’s “understanding photography field guide” is a great book for noobs like me)

oh wow it’s been a looooong time since my last post. im not really that busy, for most of the time, i’m just being lazy. i haven’t been playing wow much lately and have stopped for about a couple of weeks now. it’s unbelievable how much you could accomplish when you’re no longer hooked into mmorpg’s.

here’s a short rundown of stuff i’ve been wasting my time with…. =P

1. completed a basic exercise course but haven’t taken the cert exam yet, i might take that sometime soon.

2. completed a basic cpr course. ye! i passed and got certified!

3. took a studio photography course, one more session to go. i’ll be posting the pictures i took soon.

4. spending my sunday afternoons reading (a book, for real!)

more stuff to do in the near future, maybe i’ll be more active in posting… we’ll see

spent the new year’s eve partying all night long with a couple of friends i met in the gym. one of em got an FA for a gf and with her, 6 gal pals. [nose bleed!]

we had like 3 bottles of chivas (i had 2 glasses of vodka before that!)… i don’t really dance but when you’re surrounded by FAs, you wouldn’t think twice. as we emptied one bottle after another, the dancing got wilder and hotter! [nose bleed again!]

unfortunately, i don’t have a cam with me… yeeeeeshhh. would have been great to have something to remind me of that great night. ;P
